Poo-er to the people!

Now this one can produce a lot of energy!
We have another way to digest something that comes from a cow.

Dane County is planning on installing two Manure Digesters to produce electricity in the Dane County area - one near Waunakee, one near Middleton.

These are mini-power plants that take the cow's manure and converts it into mostly methane gas. The Waunakee digester is expected to produce approximately $2 million in electricity per year!

Another benefit? The nearly 2 BILLION pounds of manure produced annually in Dane County has a better purpose and function now. Instead of running off into creeks and streams, it now can be used to produce electricity.
